From the early days of the Joseon Dynasty, the Joseon dynasty continued the yanggung system, using Gyeongbokgung as the legal palace and Changdeokgung as the auxiliary palace. Changgyeonggung is a palace built next to Changdeokgung so that the three of them, Queen Sejo, Queen Ansun , and Queen Deokjong, and Queen Sohye , who are the oldest members of the royal family , can spend comfortably.

Changdeokgung Palace

Hanyang in 1394 (the 3rd year of King Taejo ) and built Gyeongbokgung as Jeonggung ( Beopgung ). However, Taejong, who succeeded King Jeongjong, decided to relocate to Hanyang and built a new palace, which is called Changdeokgung . Gyeongbokgung Palace already exists in Hanyang, but the reason why he built a new palace meant that Taejong did not want to stay in Gyeongbokgung Palace. Taejong avoided Gyeongbokgung Palace because it was the place where he had caused blood and wind, and mainly lived in Changdeokgung Palace. However, major national important events were held mainly at Geunjeongjeon Hall or Gyeonghoeru Pavilion in Gyeongbokgung Palace . At the time of the founding of King Taejong, Changdeokgung had 74 outer halls and 118 inner halls. Blue house

Blue House, meaning blue roof tile house, was used as the presidential residence where the first to 19th presidents of the Republic of Korea lived and served. From the 10th, it was fully open to the general public. During the Joseon Dynasty, the Blue House was located in Baesanimsu, the most blessed land under the sky, and was used as the northern patronage of Gyeongbokgung Palace.

Gyeongbokgung

Inspired by a poem in the city of Jua, 'Already drunk and already full of virtue, a gentleman will cherish your great and great fortune forever .' It was named景福宮. Because it was a palace planned by the new generation of generations, it was built in a modest and simple form without lavish decorations compared to the palaces of previous dynasties reflecting the Confucian ideology. According to the Confucian view, the layout is in the form of three gates and three groups. It played an important role as the royal palace of the Joseon Dynasty during the Imjin War and the first half of the Joseon Dynasty. Gyeongbokgung Palace was designed with a strict geometrical space division, a straight axis , and an orderly symmetrical structure to express its authority as a legal palace. It had two palaces , Changdeokgung and Yanggung , and the kings used the two palaces alternately according to their tastes.
After being burned down during the Japanese Invasion of Imjin, it has not been rebuilt for 200 years. For reference, the appearance of Gyeongbokgung Palace, built by Heungseon Daewongun, and Gyeongbokgung Palace, which was destroyed during the Japanese Invasion of Imjin, is somewhat different. Records of multi-story buildings stand out, such as when King Sejong fell ill while sleeping on the second floor. In addition, differences are seen, such as mentioning that blue tile was placed on Geunjeongjeon, and the appearance of Gyeongbokgung Palace at that time can be guessed from the architectural style described in the Buddha Birth Map , which was produced by the royal family before the Imjin War. Above all, unlike the previous building, which was gradually expanded to a maximum of 5,000 rooms, Heungseon Daewongun was rebuilt with 7,400 rooms. It has grown to 1.5 times its size in an instant.
