in 1990, the Chunchugwan was built to be used as a press conference venue for
the president and as a report room for reporters entering and exiting the

well symbolizes the spirit of today's free speech. The Spring and Autumn Hall
has traditional elegance with earthen tiles placed on the gabled roof in
harmony with the surrounding landscape.

arts by sponsoring outside the Sinmumun Gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace . It was
also used as an outdoor event site, and various events such as Mother's Day and
Disabled People's Day were held every spring, starting with Children's Day . It

a L-shaped roof with Korean blue tiles on the double eaves of the roof.
5. Sugung Site
The
current location of the Blue House was the backbone of Gyeongbokgung Palace
during the Joseon Dynasty . As Gyeongbokgung Palace was rebuilt in the 5th year
of King Gojong , buildings such as Yongmundang , Yongmudang , and Oungak were
built, and past examinations and martial arts competitions were held.
The present site of Sugung was the site of
Sugung (守宮) that protected the royal
palace at that time. During the Japanese colonial period, the Japanese
Government-General of Korea built the governor’s residence
on the site of Sugung, and after liberation, it was also used as the residence
of Lieutenant General Haji of the U.S. Military Government headquarters .
.After reconstructing the Blue House main building in 1991, it was demolished
and restored as the site of Sugung in November 1993 in order to straighten the
history.
6. Main building
The main
building, which is located on the south side of Bukaksan Mountain, the main
mountain of Seoul during the Joseon Dynasty, is the central building used for
the president's office and foreign guests . was built on September 4, 1991, as
a claim was raised . Based on the traditional wooden structure and palace
architecture, the Paljak roof, which is said to be the most elegant and
beautiful, was raised, and a total of 150,000 Korean-style blue tiles were
connected. Single-story annexes were placed on the left and right of the main
building on the second floor .
7. Guest House
This is
the building where large-scale conferences and official events for foreign
state guests were held. When a foreign president or prime minister visits, it
was used as an official venue for folk performances and dinners to inform
Korea, or as a venue for large-scale meetings and banquets of more than 100
people.
Construction started in January 1978 and was
completed in December of that year, and 18 stone pillars support the entire
building .
The first and second floors have the same hall.
The first floor was used as a reception hall for foreign state guests, and the
second floor was used as a banquet hall for large-scale luncheons and banquets.
8. Seven Palaces
Chilgung
is the place where the tablets of concubines who gave birth to the king during
the Joseon Dynasty are enshrined, and is located to the southwest of the Blue
House. These include Sokseonggung (毓祥宮, Sukjong's concubine , Choi clan), Jeogyeonggung (儲慶宮, Seonjo's concubine , Inbin Kim clan), Daebingung (大嬪宮, Sukjong's concubine, Heebin Jang ), and Yeonhogung (延祜宮). there is a shrine for dogs. It has been closed to the public since 1968, but

visitors to visit, visits to
Chilgung were often performed in conjunction

memorial park.
